Director’s Bio

Gilles Hervel is the linchpin to Building Lab. He started his career path in the shipping industry back in 1993 to 1996 where he held the role of Logistics and Operations Supervisor in the operations fields. Thereafter from 1997 to 2004, he acted as Assistant Logistics and Operations Manager.

Until 2006, he then held the position of Logistics Manager at EME Ltd (Electrical and Mechanical Engineering Ltd). From this role, he acquired the core organisational fundamentals of a large building company, yard and site security set up as well as the key knowledge of how the Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing aspects of a construction site are handled.

In 2007, Gilles had the opportunity to lead the Fixtures Furniture and Equipment for the Four Seasons Head Office Canada where he monitored the tracking and reporting of Delivery Risks and updates of internal tracking systems.

This role entailed the coordination of FF&E and OSC installation, where he acted as a liaison officer between the Four Seasons owner, vendors, suppliers

(local & international) and Freight companies for the project of Four Seasons Hotel at

Anahita – Beau Champ.

For the next five years, Gilles served as a Plant and Logistics Manager for Building and Civil Engineering Ltd aka BCE, where he was in charge of the Mechanical Workshop and Welding Department.

From 2014 to 2017, Gilles worked at Manser Saxson Contracting Ltd as Logistics and Operations Manager, where he organised and monitored the flow and distribution of materials to the various sites.

The director of Building Lab was also sought for his experience of site contract manager skills where he facilitated the workload of a few companies to reach the optimal quality of work that the industry seeks. From all his acquired knowledge, skillsets and expertise, today Gilles heads his own company where he accomplished a few projects since the opening in April 2018 of Building Lab such as:

• Contract Manager for completion of SLOI Jin Fei Riche Terre Project with
10,000m2. Project duration lasted from March 2018 to September 2018, where they were called to assist the main contractor in the project completion.

• Contract Manager for RM Club Forbach from foundation to ground floor, a 4200m2 project from June to December 2019.

• Total renovation of Meltin Potes Bistro at Moka from June 2020 to September 2020.

• Renovation and Construction of External work as one swimming pool, one fish pond pool, one entrance pool and wooden decking, metal work and stone walls at Tamarin Golf Villas from October 2020 to January 2021 fully completed.
